What it does
Voxel sells computer vision software that analyzes video from existing cameras to flag PPE non-compliance, ergonomic risks, vehicle incidents, near misses and operational inefficiencies. It frames the product around risk management as well as safety, including workers' compensation cost reduction. In April 2026 it announced Risk Insights, a feature that sends site managers a daily summary of safety risks.
Who it is for
Voxel targets manufacturing, logistics and supply chain, and retail distribution. Customers named in its funding announcements and website include large retailers and distributors, a cold storage operator and a port authority. The company was founded in 2020 and is based in San Francisco.
How it is deployed
Voxel says its software works with "over 95% of existing IP cameras" and can be deployed to a facility within 48 hours with minimal IT changes. It claims detection accuracy of "96%+" and says its models are trained on more than 5 billion hours of industrial footage; both are vendor figures. Ask how video is processed and stored, as the public material focuses on outcomes more than architecture.
Notable public customers and coverage
Voxel raised a $15 million Series A led by Eclipse Ventures in 2022. In June 2025 it announced a $44 million Series B led by NewRoad Capital Partners, with Eclipse, Rite-Hite, Tokio Marine, MTech, HG Ventures and Whitestone, bringing total funding to $61 million. Customers named at the time included Albertsons, Dick's Sporting Goods, Americold, AGI, Port of Virginia and Berry Global. The company claimed a 91% reduction in recordable injuries at deployed sites; this is a vendor claim. In October 2025 Ericsson Ventures made an undisclosed strategic investment, with reports putting total funding at $64 million.
Things to ask in an evaluation
- How is the 91% recordable reduction calculated, over which sites and which time window?
- Where is video processed, what leaves the site, and how long are clips retained?
- How does the insurer relationship with Tokio Marine affect data sharing, if at all?
- What does Risk Insights include, and can managers tune it to avoid alert fatigue?
- What is the false positive rate per camera per shift at comparable sites?
- Which EHS systems does Voxel integrate with today?
