Editorial policy

Independence

Editorial decisions are made by our editors alone. Vendors, sponsors and partners cannot review, approve or change coverage before publication, and they cannot pay to be included in or excluded from the vendor directory.

Sourcing

• We prefer primary sources: regulators such as OSHA, BLS and the UK HSE, standards bodies, peer-reviewed research and official filings.
• Every factual claim that is not common knowledge carries an inline citation that links to the source list.
• Statistics are given with their year and source. We do not combine figures from incompatible datasets.
• Vendor statements (accuracy, savings, customer outcomes) are attributed to the vendor and are not independently verified unless we say so.

Fairness in vendor coverage

Every vendor profile uses the same fields and the same evaluation questions. Where we compare vendors, every row is sourced and dated. Vendors may send factual corrections, which we check before changing anything.

How content is made, including AI use

• We use software, including AI tools, to help find sources, draft text and build charts. Every factual claim must trace to a cited source; claims we cannot verify are left out.
• Automated checks run on every change: citation numbers must match the source list, every statistic needs a year and a source, and banned or promotional wording is flagged.
• Figures and diagrams are drawn by us from the data and tables on the same page. We do not use AI-generated photos or stock images to illustrate products, sites or people.
• Titles, descriptions, image text alternatives and structured data are checked in the same review as the body text.

Human review

Before a page is marked as reviewed, a named person reads it against its sources, opens every cited link, checks each figure against the data it shows and records the date. Pages that have passed this review say who reviewed them and when, under the title. A page without that line has passed our automated checks but not yet a final human review. We are responsible for everything we publish, reviewed or not.

Corrections

We fix errors promptly and note significant corrections on the page. Report a problem through our contact page.
