How the public evidence checklist works

Twelve items a buyer can check on the open web before talking to sales. We record what we find, with the source and date. We do not add them up or rank vendors.

Last updated October 2026

What it shows, and what it does not

For each vendor we look for security documentation, data processing terms, privacy features, deployment details, pricing, a published accuracy method, independent evidence, named customers, integrations, company details and third-party reviews. Each item found on a vendor profile links to the page where we found it, with the date we checked.

It does not rate product quality, detection accuracy or safety outcomes, and there is no total score. We have not tested these products. A vendor that publishes little may have an excellent product and share its documents under NDA; a vendor that publishes a lot may still be a poor fit for your site. Use the checklist to plan what to request, then run your own pilot. The buying chapter explains how, and the comparison table shows every vendor A to Z.

Why no ranking

Which vendor is right depends on your hazards, sites, existing cameras and systems, workforce and law. A single ranking would hide those trade-offs, so we list vendors alphabetically.

The twelve items

ItemWhy it matters to a buyer
Security or trust pageShows how video, accounts and infrastructure are protected before you ask.
Data processing agreement publishedWorker video is personal data in most jurisdictions; the DPA sets roles, retention and transfers.
ISO 27001 or SOC 2 claimedA claim tells you which certificate or report to request. We record the claim, not its validity.
Privacy features documentedBlurring, anonymization and retention controls decide how workers and regulators react.
Deployment architecture documentedEdge, on-site or cloud processing changes bandwidth, privacy and IT review.
Pricing or pricing model publicLets you budget and compare before procurement.
Accuracy or validation method publishedWithout a method, accuracy and outcome claims cannot be compared or tested.
Independent evidenceAnalyst, academic, regulator or insurer evidence that the vendor did not publish itself.
Named customer case studyA named customer with a measured outcome gives you a reference to check.
Integrations listedEHS, video and maintenance integrations decide whether events lead to action.
Company details disclosedLegal entity, headquarters and leadership tell you who you are contracting with.
Third-party reviews (5 or more)Independent user reviews, read for what they actually review.

Rules we follow

  • An item counts as found only if a public page shows it on the day we check. We record the URL and the date.
  • Certification and outcome claims are recorded as the vendor's claims. We do not assume they are verified.
  • Independent evidence excludes the vendor's own pages, press releases and paid placements.
  • Review presence needs at least five reviews on a third-party platform.
  • If a site blocks our automated checks, the item is marked "not checked", not "not found".
  • Vendors can send a correction with a public link, and we recheck it.

Our take

Some profiles end with "Our take": strengths, things to watch and the buyer situation the vendor's public material suggests it fits. It is editorial judgment based on the cited sources, not a hands-on review and not a ranking. See the editorial policy.
