What it does
viAct sells AI video analytics for workplace safety, with real-time alerts, predictive analytics and automated compliance reporting. It describes its approach as "scenario-based vision intelligence" and combines video analytics with AIoT (connected sensors with AI) and edge generative AI. The company's roots are in construction site monitoring, and it has since broadened to other heavy industries.
Who it is for
viAct lists construction, oil and gas, mining, chemicals, manufacturing, warehousing, data centers, smart cities and the public sector. Press coverage of its 2025 round said it served more than 200 contractors. It is headquartered in Hong Kong and has said it is expanding in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, and in Europe.
How it is deployed
The company says its platform works with existing CCTV and offers edge computing through a product called viHUB. Construction sites often use temporary or solar-powered cameras with mobile connectivity, so buyers in that sector should ask how the system behaves with intermittent networks and moving camera positions.
Notable public customers and coverage
viAct names customers including Shui On Construction, Bouygues Travaux Publics, MTR Corporation (on the Sha Tin to Central Link project) and ALEC Engineering and Contracting. It raised a $2 million seed round in 2021 co-led by SOSV and Vectr Ventures. In 2025 it raised a $7.3 million Series A led by Venturewave Capital, with Singtel Innov8, Korea Investment Partners and the PolyU Entrepreneurship Investment Fund. Trade coverage reported that viAct was among the vendors assessed in the 2026 Verdantix Smart Innovators report on video analytics for safety.
Things to ask in an evaluation
- Which detections are proven on construction sites with changing layouts, and which need retraining?
- How does viHUB handle poor connectivity and power interruptions?
- Where is data stored for projects in the EU, UK or Gulf states, and under which law?
- What local support exists in your region after the MENA and Europe expansion?
- How are alerts routed to site supervisors and subcontractors, not just head office?
- Can you speak to a reference on a project similar to yours in size and type?
