What it does
VelocityEHS sells cloud software for chemical management and safety data sheets (SDS), industrial ergonomics, safety incident management, environmental compliance, contractor management and industrial hygiene. Its ergonomics offering, which came from the 2018 acquisition of Humantech, includes automated ergonomic assessments from video, an AI feature Verdantix highlighted in its 2025 EHS software report.
Who it is for
VelocityEHS serves organizations from mid-sized firms to large enterprises, with particular strength in manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and chemicals. It says it serves more than 15,000 EHS teams. Buyers whose main risks are chemical exposure or manual handling will find its specialist modules relevant.
How it is deployed
VelocityEHS is delivered as cloud software with mobile access. Its SDS library and chemical modules can be bought on their own, which makes it a common entry point for smaller organizations before they adopt wider EHS modules.
Notable public customers and coverage
The company began as MSDSonline in Chicago in 1996, merged with KMI and rebranded as VelocityEHS in 2015, and has since acquired E3 Solutions, Humantech, ChemTel, Contractor Compliance and others. CVC acquired the business in 2017. In August 2022 Partners Group agreed to acquire a significant minority stake, joining CVC on the board; at that time the company served more than 18,000 customers. Verdantix placed VelocityEHS among the leaders in its 2025 Green Quadrant for EHS software.

- Which modules are fully integrated, and which are separate acquired products?
- How do SDS and chemical inventories link to incident and exposure records?
- What APIs exist for importing events from cameras or wearables?
- How does pricing scale as you add modules and sites?
- What AI features are generally available, and how is customer data used to train them?
