What it does
SafetyCulture began with iAuditor, a mobile app for digital inspections and checklists. It now sells a broader workplace operations platform covering inspections, issue reporting and corrective actions, training and onboarding, task management, asset maintenance, sensors and analytics, with AI features for building templates and capturing issues. The safetyculture.com website now redirects to mitti.com, where the platform is branded "Mitti by SafetyCulture."
Who it is for
The platform serves frontline teams across many sectors, including manufacturing, hospitality, construction, retail and facilities management. In 2024 the company said it had about 2 million users at 85,000 businesses; its current website cites 80,000 organizations. Named customers include Toyota Material Handling, Coles and DB Schenker. It suits organizations that want fast, mobile-first inspections and checklists, more than those needing a deep regulatory EHS system of record.
How it is deployed
SafetyCulture is cloud software used mainly through mobile apps, with offline support for inspections. Teams can often start with templates and no formal implementation project. Larger rollouts still need template governance, user management and integration with other systems.
Notable public customers and coverage
SafetyCulture was founded in 2004 by Luke Anear in Townsville, Queensland, and is now based in Sydney. In September 2024 it closed an A$165 million round at an A$2.5 billion valuation, led by Airtree Ventures with Blackbird, Morpheus Ventures and Australian superannuation funds participating. The company said the money would fund innovation for larger enterprise customers and AI adoption.
Things to ask in an evaluation
- What does the Mitti branding change for existing SafetyCulture contracts, apps and integrations?
- Can the platform meet your regulatory recordkeeping needs, or will you also need a full EHS system?
- How are templates governed across many sites so data stays comparable?
- What APIs and integrations exist for sending inspection findings to other systems?
- How does pricing change as you add users, sites and modules?
- How are AI features trained, and is your inspection data used?
