What it does

Intelex provides web and mobile applications for environmental, health, safety and quality (EHSQ) management. Typical modules cover incident management and investigations, audits and inspections, corrective actions, risk assessment, training, environmental compliance and quality management, with reporting and analytics on top. Fortive lists associated offerings through ehsAI and Predictive Solutions.

Who it is for

Intelex is aimed at mid-sized and large organizations that need a configurable system of record for EHSQ across many sites. Fortive says more than 75 Fortune 500 companies use it. It is a natural destination for events from AI video, wearables and gas detectors, so integration capability matters for buyers building a wider safety technology stack.

How it is deployed

Intelex is delivered as cloud software with web and mobile access. As with other enterprise EHS platforms, implementation usually involves configuring forms and workflows, migrating historical records, and integrating with HR, ERP and identity systems. Buyers should budget internal time and possibly partner services for configuration.

Notable public customers and coverage

Intelex was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Toronto. In June 2019 Industrial Scientific, a Fortive company known for connected gas detection, acquired Intelex from JMI Equity and HarbourVest for about $570 million. At the time Intelex served more than 1,100 customers. Fortive states that Verdantix has named Intelex an EHS software leader for seven consecutive years, including in the 2025 Green Quadrant, which compared 21 EHS platforms.

Things to ask in an evaluation

  • Which modules are native and which come from acquired or partner products?
  • What APIs exist for importing events from video analytics, wearables or gas detection?
  • How does Intelex work with Industrial Scientific's connected devices in practice?
  • What AI features are generally available today, and how is your data used to train them?
  • What does a typical implementation cost and take for an organization of your size?
  • How are configuration changes handled after go-live, by your team or by services?
