What it does
Cority sells a SaaS platform, CorityOne, covering environmental management, health and safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, quality and sustainability reporting. Its occupational health and industrial hygiene modules reflect its origins: it began in 1985 as Medgate, an occupational health software specialist, and rebranded as Cority in 2017. It has expanded into ESG and sustainability reporting through acquisitions including Reporting 21 in 2022.
Who it is for
Cority is aimed at large and mid-sized enterprises, especially those with significant occupational health, industrial hygiene or sustainability reporting needs, such as manufacturing, energy, chemicals and life sciences. It is headquartered in Toronto.
How it is deployed
Cority is delivered as cloud software. Implementation typically involves configuring modules, migrating records, and connecting HR and operational systems. Occupational health modules hold medical information about employees, which raises the bar for access control and data protection, and the vendor's handling of that data should be reviewed carefully.
Notable public customers and coverage
In July 2019 Thoma Bravo became Cority's majority investor, with Norwest Venture Partners keeping a significant stake. Cority said at the time that it had more than 800 clients worldwide. Verdantix placed Cority among the leaders in its 2025 Green Quadrant for EHS software, which compared 21 platforms. The company says its platform now includes AI agents; buyers should ask which AI features are generally available.
Things to ask in an evaluation
- Which modules do you need, and how is pricing structured across them?
- How do occupational health records stay separate from general safety data?
- What APIs and connectors exist for camera, wearable and sensor events?
- Which acquired products are fully integrated into CorityOne, and which run alongside it?
- What AI features exist today, and does your data train shared models?
- What implementation partners are available in your region, and at what cost?
